Our Future

NVISEA envisions replacing the existing 1800 sq/ft aged Quatse River Hatchery office building with a new 4300 sq/ft multi-faceted facility. This would diversify NVISEA, adding research labs, a community classroom, and a salmon interpretative centre. Cost for this proposed facility, which is scheduled for completion in 2007, is $850,000.

As of March 2007, NVISEA, the Pacific Salmon Foundation, and the Coast Sustainability Trust have already committed funds to this initiative and further funding is being sought. NVISEA needs financial and in-kind assistance from a variety of sources to make this vision a reality.
